Introduction
StoryMagic ("we", "us") operates the StoryMagic application. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: account details (name, email), story preferences, voice recordings for voice cloning, and usage data (play history, favorites). We do not collect information from children directly — all accounts are managed by parents or guardians.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: generate personalized stories, provide voice cloning, save your preferences and history, improve our services, and communicate service updates.
Children's Privacy and Parental Consent
StoryMagic is designed for families, letting parents create personalized stories for their children. The account holder must be an adult aged 18 or older (typically a parent or guardian). Any personal information relating to a child (such as a name used to make the child the story's protagonist) is provided by the account holder — the parent or guardian — who consents to its use for that purpose; we do not collect personal information directly from children, and we do not require children themselves to provide any information. We collect only the minimum amount of child-related information necessary to provide the service, and we do not use it for purposes other than those described above (such as advertising). Parents or guardians may view, edit, or delete child-related information they have provided at any time from account settings.
Voice Samples (Biometric Data)
If you use the voice cloning feature, the voice sample you upload is sensitive biometric data. We use your voice sample solely to generate story narration for your own account; we do not use it to train, improve, or evaluate any AI model, and we do not disclose or sell it in any form. Voice samples are stored in accordance with the retention principles in this policy. You may delete a created voice model at any time from account settings, and doing so also deletes the original voice sample file underlying that voice model. Please do not upload another person's voice sample without their consent.
Third-Party AI Processing Disclosure
To generate story text, illustrations, and narration, we send the necessary input you provide (such as story settings and voice samples) to a third-party AI service provider for processing. That provider processes your data only under our instructions to complete generation, and is contractually bound not to use your data for any other purpose. Your account data and Generated Content continue to be stored on our own servers.
Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate StoryMagic (AI generation, hosting) under strict data processing agreements.
Data Retention
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page.
